A particular area of the common where the sheep from one farm live.
Hefted
A sheep which lives and stays on a particular area of unfenced common, because it has been taught to do so by its mother.
Hogg
Lamb, after it has been weaned from its mother.
Inbye
Land which has been enclosed into fields and been subject to agricultural improvement. It is used for husbandry purposes such as lambing and making hay.
Shearling
Sheep which has been sheared once.
Tupping
When the rams are put in to serve the ewes.
Wether
Castrated male sheep of any age.
